Municipal Solid Waste Green Energy Greece (MSWGE) is an innovative enterprise that aims to promote the Circular Economy in Greece. The company has set up a new plant in the city of Koropi, Greece, that converts biomass from municipalities to High Energy Solid Fuel (HESF). The biomass is collected from municipalities and individuals, and it is primarily the by-product of public and private green area management.
The HESF produced in our plant can be used to generate heat if used in fireplaces, pellet heaters, wood stoves etc.Â
The plant is expected to reduce Greece's reliance on imported fossil fuels and create jobs in the green energy sector. It is also expected to help to improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The plant has a capacity of converting 20,000 tons of biomass per year into HESF.
The HESF produced by the plant is expected to heat approximately 7,000 homes.
The plant is expected to create 20 jobs once it is operational.
The plant is expected to save Greece 10,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
